Exclusive! Watch Josh Groban's new video!

Written By Unknown on Jumat, 01 Maret 2013 | 23.37

Here's a little present from RTÉ Ten to you this Friday - an exclusive first-look at Josh Groban's new music video for Brave, the first single from his new album, All The Echoes. Enjoy!

Speaking to RTÉ Ten about Brave, the lead single from his sixth album, All That Echoes, Josh Groban said: "After making a very intimate, sombre record the last time round I wanted to make a song that was more uplifting.

"Sometimes you write songs that you say to yourself I want to hear this song every morning, this is the kind of thing I need to get me out of bed every morning and that was one of them.

"All That Echoes was a joy to record from beginning to end. I think this record is still at the heart about love. I think it is about hopefully finding the positive in all the unknown and imperfect situations that we have in love in our lives.

"This record is energetic, it's dynamic, it was inspired by the live show. I think we wanted to make an album that we just knew we would have a great time touring.!"

During his recent stay in Ireland, which Josh described as "great craic", the multi-million selling singer propped himself up at the bar to enjoy a pint of the black stuff and joined in with a sing-song.

You might think this would be an easy thing for the award-winning singer to do considering he has sung with musical legends and at huge events like the Oscars and Olympics, but Josh admits he gets nervous singing by himself in front of a small group of people.

He explained: "I was in a pub the other night and they were saying 'just one song, give us a little of She Move Through The Fair,' and I was thinking 'o my god there are some amazing singers here,' and I was just too shy and nervous."

Josh will be returning to Ireland on June 23rd for a concert at the O2 and reckons it is much easier to sing in a bigger venue. "You can get yourself into a headspace and you are just in the zone."

Susan Boyle set to make movie debut

Britain's Got Talent singer Susan Boyle is currently shooting her debut movie, a period drama involving angels and a magical candle.

The reluctant 51-year-old Scottish star has been cast in a small role in a movie called The Christmas Candle. She plays the wife of the church warden involved in a magical Christmas where an angel visits the fictitious village of Gladbury every 25 years.

According to The Daily Mail, the film began shooting in the picturesque Cotswolds in southern England this week and Boyle will sing a song written for her in a church scene.

The movie also stars Les Miserable actress Samantha Barks, Lesley Manville, Hans Matheson, former Doctor Who Sylvester McCoy, and John Hannah.

Edgy stuff. Could we have a future crimbo classic on our hands here?

Outspoken chef Richard Corrigan will also be on the couch to reveal why the horsemeat scandal is no surprise to him.

And prepare for a shock as comedian Katherine Lynch steps out from behind her characters to reveal her musical side as she performs a track from her debut album, Settling Dust.

The colourful funny gal tells Brendan about her acting ambitions and how she is really a sensitive and artistic soul.

Oh, and Crystal Swing drop in to catch up with Brendan and perform a brand new song. Yikes.

Williams stuns at London's Oz premiere

Michelle Williams stole the show at the London premiere of Oz: The Great and Powerful last night (February 28).

The actress chose a strapless Burberry Prorsum peacock feather frock for the event, which featured a subtle sweetheart neckline and a black band cinched across the waist.

A pair of black peep-toe platform heels with dainty ankle straps finished off the very modern and fashionable look.

She wore her cropped hair do sleek and blowdried to the side, while her makeup was a lesson in understatement.

Also impressing in the style stakes was her Oz co-star Rachel Weisz, who went for timeless elegance in a strapless cream Michael Kors dress with slight ruching at the skirt and a belted waist. She tied her brunette locks back into a chic updo, while a boxy gold clutch and sparkly strappy heels kept the look fun and glamorous.

Mila Kunis failed to impress in a monochrome Alexander McQueen dress which featured a voluminous layered skirt that swamped her petite figure.

Also in attendance was the actresses co-star James Franco, who looked dapper in a grey suit.

The Saturdays singer Una Healy and her husband Ben Foden posed on the green carpet for photographers, with Healy donning a sparkling nude evening gown for the event.

Julie Feeney releases haunting new video

Written By Unknown on Kamis, 28 Februari 2013 | 23.37

She dresses in art noveau finery, calls in an army, sings down by a lake and serenades a corpse - it can only be the new music video from Miss Julie Feeney.

The Galway composer and singer filmed the haunting promo clip for her latest single, Just a Few Hours, in and around Cork in freezing conditions last December.

Watch it here.

The video was made by Cork-based EPIC Productions and was shot over four days in the city, taking in historic locations such as St Fin Barre's Cathedral, Gougane Barra and the Ballincollig Powder Mills, and such cultural institutions as the Cork School of Music. The Irish Military re-enactment group were drafted in for the shoot.

Sorry to bother you, but are you one of the Choice Music Award judges?

Just a Few Hours is lifted from Feeney's third album, Clocks, which is nominated for the Choice Music Award 2012.

The winner will be announced at Dublin's Vicar Street on March 7 and it could see the maverick singer and composer win for the second time following victory for her debut album 13 Songs in 2005.

RTÉ TEN Top TV Picks of the Day

Wedding make-ups, boozy break-ups and a headline-grabbing heart-to-heart - it's all on the telly tonight.

Des Bishop: Under the Influence, 10.15pm, RTÉ One

In the final part of the series where comedian Des Bishop looks at the Irish and our drinking habits, he questions where it is socially acceptable to be in nightclubs sober. At the tender age of 14 his parents sent him to Ireland because, as he says, he had 'developed an unhealthy relationship with alcohol'. Now he sets the nation two tasks of firstly bringing back the slow-set (whoop whoop!) and a 31-day challenge for the month of March. Find out more tonight.

The Wedding Shop, 9pm, ITV

The wedding business is big business and for one shop in particular there is an unending number of brides coming through their doors to choose the all-important dress. In tonight's documentary we meet three brides-to-be and get a glimpse into the happiest and perhaps most stressful time of their lives. From tears to tantrums, it's all here; there's Tammy who hasn't spoken to her mum in five years, Jo is wants to remarry Darren and Natasha who found, then lost and has refound her first love, Ches. Real-life soap stuff.

Ear to the Ground, 8.30pm, RTÉ One
On tonight's programme, the final in the series Ella McSweeney interviews Meath jockey, Johnny Murtagh who opens up about his headline-grabbing career. The champion jockey talks about his many triumphant moments and also the devastating battles he fought both personally and professionally. Rosanna Davison makes Pseuds Corner

Chris de Burgh's daughter Rosanna Davison has beaten off stiff competition from Irish writers, pundits and arts journalists to make the hallowed columns of Pseuds Corner in Private Eye magazine.

The item runs in the UK's premiere satirical periodical in recognition of hyperbole and pretention wherever and whenever they rear their lovely heads.

In the current issue, the former Miss Ireland made the list for these deathless words from an interview she gave to The Irish Times which touched on her decision to strip for Playboy magazine:

"One of my big worries doing Playboy was my responsibility towards women and towards feminism . . . I decided to do it based on my academic understanding of women's writing and literature."

Fine words indeed, fine words.
