New Bruce Lee biopic in the works

A new biopic about the life of martial arts legend Bruce Lee is currently in the works, according to the late actor's daughter, Shannon Lee.

The movie will be the first to be made about Lee's life with the full involvement of his family.

In a statement, Shannon said: "There have been projects out there involving my father, but they've lacked a complete understanding of his philosophies and artistry."

She added: "They haven't captured the essence of his beliefs in martial arts or storytelling. The only way to get audiences to understand the depth and uniqueness of my father is to generate our own material and find amazing, like-minded partners to work with."

Lee died aged 32 in 1973, after collapsing during an ADR session for the movie Enter the Dragon in Hong Kong.
