RTÉ's Mooney and Duffy for Mrs Brown cameos

Written By Unknown on Sabtu, 22 Desember 2012 | 23.37

Mrs Brown's Boys creator and star Brendan O'Carroll has said that RTÉ presenters Derek Mooney and Joe Duffy will guest star in episodes of the new series next year.

Speaking to Ryan Tubridy on Friday's Late Late Show, O'Carroll said: "In episode one, it opens with the triplets' Christening, and the guest artist at the triplets' Christening is a hypnotist, who hypnotises Agnes (O'Carroll) but forgets to 'unhypnotise' her."

Asked who plays the hypnotist, O'Carroll replied: "Derek Mooney and Mooney really does ******* wild! But he does a really good job and he's really slick."

O'Carroll continued: "A couple of episodes later, we've a psychic. Rory (Rory Cowan) and Kathy (Jennifer Gibney) decide to get a psychic into the house so that Agnes can talk to [her late husband] Redser. They don't realise that Agnes doesn't want to talk to Redser; she was delighted when he died!

"... And that psychic is played by Joe Duffy, who is mental in it! He really goes for it. He scared the **** out of me!"

Watch the full Late Late Show interview here.

Before the series, the new, two-part Mrs Brown's Boys Christmas Special is on RTÉ One on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at 9:40pm and 9:45pm respectively.

US cable channel AMC has announced that it has renewed The Walking Dead for a fourth series, but showrunner Glen Mazzara is leaving the zombie thriller.

Mazzara had replaced creator and original showrunner Frank Darabont early in the second season.

In a joint statement, Mazzara and AMC said: "Both parties acknowledge that there is a difference of opinion about where the show should go moving forward, and conclude that it is best to part ways.

"This decision is amicable and Glen will remain on for post-production on season 3B as showrunner and executive producer. AMC is grateful for his hard work. We are both proud of our shared success."

Christmas Soaps: EastEnders

It's all about the Brannings this Christmas Day, from weddings and deaths and a secret revealed... Let's say it's an eventful day.

Warning! Spoiler Alert!

It's Christmas Day, and the Brannings' living room is all ready for the entire clan to celebrate - the mood is festive and filled with happy expectation. Max has placed his present for Tanya - a wedding dress - under the tree and he and Lauren enjoy sharing the secret. It's not long before everyone arrives, including Derek, despite Max's previous warnings.

They may be all smiles now... But things are going to take a turn for the worse later

As dinner begins everyone tries to ignore Derek's snide remarks and claims of being the head of the family. Confronting Derek, Max, along with Jack, makes it clear that his family despises Derek and they want him out of their lives once Christmas is over. Derek is silently fuming but not willing to let his brothers get one over on him; he continues with his plan to ruin Christmas for Max.

As Max sets light to the Christmas pudding, there's a knock at the door. It's Joey, much to Derek's annoyance. Lauren is overjoyed but Derek is livid when he realises that it was Max who invited Joey. Not wanting to see his daughter upset anymore, Max tells the two of them to sort things out, clearly accepting their relationship.

Fun and games are soon to turn to fighting and murder

Wanting to enforce his role as head of the family, Derek talks about dressing up as Father Christmas and handing out the presents. However, while Derek is having a heated argument with Joey, Max gets one over on him and lovingly hands out the gifts. When the last of the presents have been handed out, Max teases Tanya before handing her that special gift. Opening the box, Tanya is overwhelmed when she realises what Max has planned for the day. As preparations get underway for the wedding, Tanya looks stunning in her dress. Things seem to be going great for the Brannings - but all that is about to change when Derek's plan falls into place, sending Max's world crashing around him... Will the wedding go ahead?

At The Vic, Alfie makes the most of the day with Mo, Jean, Roxy, Michael, Scarlett and Amy, who all throw themselves into the spirit of things. Dressed as Father Christmas, Alfie shrieks for joy when he sees Tommy. His spirits lifted, Alfie's keen to get the day underway. Roxy encourages him to have some bubbly and suggestively says to be careful where he stands as she positions herself under the mistletoe. They share a laugh and the festivities begin in earnest. It's not long before Alfie makes Tommy and Amy's Christmas wish come true and he celebrates as best he can.

Alfie and Roxy drink late into the night - but what will it lead to?

Back at The Vic after enjoying Christmas Day together, Roxy and Alfie have a drink in the evening. Unable to deny the chemistry between them, Roxy tells Alfie she loves him... But does he love her?

Just as things were looking good for the Brannings, Max's past returns to haunt him. Everyone reels with the shock apart from Derek, who gloats, having caused all the mess. With the brothers' relationship ruined forever, things get heated between them and a massive argument ensues. Apoplectic with rage, Derek tells them all what he thinks of them but Max and Jack, along with Joey, physically force Derek out of the house. What happens next will change the family hierarchy forever...

It looks like D-Day for Derek

Meanwhile, Kat makes her way to The Vic and begs Alfie to give her another chance. She tells him how much she loves him, but to her horror she realises that her plan to show Alfie she was telling the truth has backfired, as she has misplaced her trust in someone she thought would look out for her. Disgusted by her betrayal, Alfie makes it clear that she is no longer welcome, but before Kat has the chance to respond Roxy interrupts them when she appears behind the bar. Thinking the worst, Kat rushes out. Has she jumped to the wrong conclusion?

Christmas Soaps: Fair City

It all about affairs in Fair City this Christmas! Warning! Spoiler Alert!

It's Christmas Day and Dermot feels nervous about having Maeve over for the day but hopes things go well. They go to the house and Jo presents Dermot with a Christmas gift, which later Maeve also gives to him. Jo tells her she has already bought him the book, but Maeve tells Dermot it can be exchanged. Maeve then gives a delighted Ben a magic set gift and Jo realises that she can't ruin their happy relationship.

Jo's not impressed that Maeve is playing happy families with Dermot

At Val's, Eddie gets an unwelcome visitor when Flynn calls to the house. He tells Eddie that he doesn't like him spending his money on frivolous parties. Eddie tells him that he's doing it to get some clients and butter them up. Flynn summises that Eddie is organising a pyramid scheme. Cass walks in on them talking and asks for some food to take back to the house. Flynn leaves Eddie annoyed and flustered.

Flynn lays down the law - he wants his money and he wants it fast

Tommy calls to neighbours with wine and chocolate and on his travels meets Jo, who is weepy and upset about Dermot and Maeve. He guides her to the park, but Judith spots them and is furious. When Tommy comes back he lies to her about whom he met and she is disgusted he can do so easily. After dinner Tommy makes a speech about Judith and how much he loves her. Judith fumes as she sees this as hypocrisy.

Judith spies Tommy and Jo sharing an emotional moment

A fed up Judith goes out for a walk and ends up calling to Luke. She vents to him about Tommy and sneaking into the park with Jo. She is appalled that he can lie so easily. She knows that nothing is going on but is still hurt he would do that and feels it's not the last time he'll cheat. Luke asks her what she wants and she kisses him passionately.

Judith gets her own back... with Tommy's brother Luke

After waiting three hours a starving Bela and Yvonne lose all reason and eat a whole selection box and box of chocolate. Cass comes out from the kitchen and thanks them for being so patient. They feel nauseous when Cass tells them dinner is served and they are forced to sit at the table. He spots all the empty wrappers and realises that they ate without telling him. Feigning ignorance he makes them eat dinner, then second helpings. They nearly get sick when he informs them dessert is death by chocolate. He produces the evidence of wrappers and tells them he knew they gorged earlier and this was his way of getting back at them.

Cass Christmas Dinner is a complete disaster!

Back in the Dillon's house Tommy tells Judith about meeting Jo and that he didn't want to tell the truth earlier as it would have ruined the atmosphere. Judith begins to feel really guilty. He then presents her with a necklace. A knock on the door reveals Luke outside with a bottle of champagne. Tommy brings him in and conflicted Judith drinks champagne with her husband and her lover.

It's a sombre Christmas in the Dillons
