Melanie Masson became the second person to be voted off X Factor last night as the vote went to deadlock for the second week in a row. Gary Barlow and Nicole Scherzinger voted to save Masson but Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh saved boyband District 3.
Masson was bottom in the public vote after singing Stay With Me.
Barlow said it was "a great sing-off" and saved his own act, 44-year-old mother of two Masson. Masson said after the final result: "I have absolutely enjoyed every single second of being here and the opportunities it has brought to work with Gary, to work with everybody. It's just been the best experience, I've loved it."
The results this week were a less dramatic affair than last week when Carolynne Poole was sent home in a sing-off also featuring Rylan Clark. Louis Walsh appeared to back Poole before back-tracking and sending vote to deadlock which saw Poole sent off and Gary Barlow walk off the set.
