The new series of Room to Improve begins on RTÉ One tonight, Sunday October 14, in the new time slot of 9:30pm.
In the six-part series architect Dermot Bannon will be tackling "a diverse mix of renovations, refurbishments and brand new builds", including a bungalow in Co Tipperary, a falling-down cottage in Old Finglas and rebuilds in Mullingar and Brittas, among others.
Joining him will be quantity surveyor Patricia Power, who will be "keeping an eye on his more elaborate designs, negotiating the best deals and somehow making the impossible feasible".

The makers of the show say: "This year, with budgets tighter and clients' expectations even higher, Dermot will be obliged to expand his role as perfectionist designer to include mediation, builder-wrangling and some extremely delicate diplomacy. In this series, he'll be dealing with six clients who know exactly what they want. Or so they think."
In episode one, Bannon travels to Tipperary to turn a 1970s bungalow two miles outside Tipperary town into a modern family home - but will the budget match the wishlist?
