EastEnders actress Shona McGarty impressed viewers of Friday night's Children in Need with a soulful singing performance.
The 21-year-old, who portrays Whitney Dean on the BBC soap, swapped Albert Square for the stage and, backed by a gospel choir, sang her heart out to the 1964 soul classic A Change Is Gonna Come, originally by Sam Cooke.

Celebrities took to Twitter to share their admiration for the actress and singer, with Coronation Street's Antony Cotton and X Factor winners Little Mix both praising her performance on the social media site.
McGarty's co-star Adam Woodyatt, who plays Ian Beale, urged viewers to watch the performance and added afterwards: "What a voice!!"
"We didn't know you could sing like that!" exclaimed host Nick Grimshaw when interviewing McGarty following her performance.
