John Creedon will host RTÉ Radio 1's coverage of the New Year's Eve Dublin Countdown Concert in College Green tomorrow night with headliners Imelda May and BellX1.
Speaking about the event, Creedon said: "I'm delighted to be broadcasting live from the Dublin NYE Countdown Concert".
"It's fantastic to have rockabilly royalty Imelda May back performing in her hometown on such a special night."
Speaking to RTÉ TEN about the preparations, he said: "Having already selected the music for the show, I will drive from Cork the night before [tonight, December 30] and have a meeting with producer Jim Lockhart, before checking into my hotel".
"The following morning, I will read briefs and biogs pertaining to the guests on the show and highlight the areas we might cover".
"After lunch, I go on-site to meet the crew and 'walk the land' so to speak. Then we head for the studio where I get a chance to rehearse somewhat, loads of coffee...red light ...and we're on!"
NYE Dublin is the first event of the Gathering Ireland 2013, a year long calendar of Gatherings, special festivals and events.
New Year's Eve on RTÉ Radio 1: Countdown Concert with John Creedon kicks off at 10pm.
New Year's Eve Show Live - The Gathering is on tomorrow evening at 10.30pm on RTÉ One.
