The BBC has published its influential Sound of 2013 longlist, which signals emerging talent for next year, and two Irish acts are featured.
Dublin band Kodaline and the Little Green Cars both make the list which is chosen by a group of DJs, critics, bloggers and broadcasters.
The most promising act from the longlist will be announced on Friday, January 4th with the top five artists been revealed from New Year's Eve until January 4th.
Some of the previous winners include Jessie J, Adele and Ellie Goulding. The list is a mix of solo artists and groups.
BBC Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens will announcing the winner on his show. He said: "This year's Sound of 2013 longlist is an exciting and vibrant one, which I think bodes well for the year ahead. It's always a varied list that surprises people, causes debate and speculation about the state of the music scene."
