Walsh tops leader board on Strictly

Kimberley Walsh impressed on Strictly Come Dancing by bagging the top score of the series last night, four ten's from the judging panel.

Overtaking her nearest rival Denise Van Outen, who topped the tables this season with a score of 39, Walsh and her professional partner, Pasha Kovalev, were lauded with the title of dance of the season by Bruno Tonioli.

Combining two dance styles into one routine, several celebrities received high marks for their performances, including Dani Harmer, Louis Smith and Lisa Riley.

Denise Van Outen suffered a slip up during her routine, while Nicky Byrne languished near the bottom of the leaderboard after the judges were unimpressed by his moves and posture.

The competition continues on BBC 1 tonight, when one act will be eliminated ahead of next week's semi-final.
