Coronation Street's Jennie McAlpine opens up about her personal life, off the small screen, and her current abduction storyline with Alan Halsall.
McAlpine, who plays Fiz, says she has no time for marriage or children just yet. The actress has played her character on the iconic soap for twelve years, while being committed to her boyfriend, Chris Farr, for eight years.
"I haven't got time - for babies or marriage," she tells The Daily Record. "I don't like being the centre of attention so a big wedding isn't for me".
Viewers saw Fiz and partner Tyrone (Alan Halsall) abduct Tyrone's baby daughter this week, taking along Fiz's daughter Hope as they tried to flee to Ireland.
"It's like the Weatherfield One with Deirdre in the '90s," McAlpine explains. "The audience knows that Tyrone is in the right, but the whole thing is a mess".
In the same interview, McAlpine talks about her close co-star Samia Ghadie, who is currently competing in Dancing On Ice.
"I'm dead chuffed with how she is doing," the 28 year-old actress said. "I was watching Dancing on Ice through my fingers when she did the headbanger. I couldn't even watch. I would have got that so wrong".
"My dad said I'm not allowed to do Dancing on Ice because I'm too clumsy and would break my neck," the actress added. "So hats off to them. They were impressive."
