John Grant makes his return to Ireland with a show on May 3 in Dublin's Vicar Street.
The Michigan-born singer, who had given up on music after his band The Czars failed to receive the recognition they richly deserved, made his comeback in 2010 with The Queen of Denmark, a solo album that topped end of year polls and marked Grant out as a performer of brutal and heartbreaking honesty.
Sinéad O'Connor recorded a cover of the album's title track on her last album and Grant has returned the favour by inviting her to record guest vocals on his new album Pale Green Ghosts which is released on March 11 on Bella Union.
Recorded in Iceland, the new album takes a synth noir approach to Grant's characteristically iron-fist-in-a-velvet glove ballads.
You can see and hear a taste of the new album here.
Tickets on sale for Grant's gig go on sale on Thursday February 21 priced €23.00 (including booking fee) available from www.ticketmaster.ie and Ticketmaster outlets nationwide.
