Byrne ‘happy and excited’ over engagement

RTÉ presenter Claire Byrne has said that she is "happy and excited" following her engagement to Gerry Scollan.

The Primetime presenter recently became engaged to the Business Consultant at Microsoft and was seen wearing her engagement ring on the current affairs programme on Tuesday evening.

Speaking about the news, the 36-year-old said: "Both myself and Gerry are really happy and excited.

"We've made no wedding plans yet and just want to enjoy this part of the story before worrying about anything wedding-related!"
