The Voice returns - from across the pond that is - there's Premier League Action with Darragh Maloney and company, plus you got Rabodirect Pro 12 Live excitement. All on your telly today

This year's series kicks off with a group performance by the four coaches, Jessie J, will.i.am, Danny O'Donoghue and, good grief, Tom Jones. For the next few weeks, said judges will occupy the chairs (thrones?) of judgment, that we have been rather familiar these weeks past from our own nail-biting shows. The first of the Blind Auditions happen tonight. Each coach must form a team of twelve artists, and they will use every trick, every name drop, every statistic to persuade the very best to join their team. Once each coach has a full team, they will advise and train them through the remaining stages until one Artist is named The Voice UK. Get earmuffs ready for lots of Whitney- style warbling - it hasn't gone away you know- and soulful young fellows singing songs with two chords. Which might be all you need, although Teenage Kicks, which sounds like the essence of pop simplicity had all of four chords.
Premier Soccer Saturday, 8.30pm RTÉ Two
Presenter Darragh Maloney is joined by Kenny Cunningham and Trevor Steven for highlights and analysis of all the day's Barclays Premier League action including Sunderland v Manchester United, Manchester City v Newcastle United, Swansea City v Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal v Reading. Bound to be an action-packed night with astute analysis and commentary from Kenny and Trevor, who know their stuff.
Ulster Bank League; RaboDirect Pro 12 Live, TG 4, 2.00pm, 6.00pm, RTÉ Two
Fans can look forward to live coverage from the Aviva Stadium of Lansdowne v Clontarf in the Ulster Bank League Division 1A, presented by Joanne Cantwell, kick-off 2.30pm. At 6.00pm, tune in to Rabodirect Pro12 Live, in which Daire O'Brien is joined by Bernard Jackman, Mark McDermott and Shane Horgan for live coverage of Leinster v Ulster from the RDS. Commentary from Hugh Cahill and Ralph Keyes. Kick-off 6.15pm
