RTÉ presenter and producer, Aonghus McAnally will step in to present Late Date on Radio 1.
Speaking to RTÉ TEN, McAnally said: "I love presenting the show whenever I am asked, as it is a lovely time to interact with the Radio 1 listeners who love their music, have their own favourites and who are very interactive with the show.
"Musically it is a lovely mix of the latest releases, the RTÉ album of the week, songs that were number one on the day through the years, artists celebrating their birthdays, listener's requests and my own personal choices."
He added: "I try and feature a few guitar players each night from established virtuosos to the new breed of exciting new Irish and international players who have taken the instrument and turned it on its head.
"As a musician all my life, I love good music no matter what genre, so I look forward to the company of the Late Date family when I am on air!"
McAnally will step in for Alf McCarthy: "I will be on for a week from Monday April 29 to Friday May 3 and also the Bank Holiday Monday May 6."
Late Date is on RTÉ Radio 1 weekdays 11.25pm to 2am, presented by Alf McCarthy and Saturday/Sunday presented by Lilian Smith from midnight to 2am. Listeners can get in touch on latedate@rte.ie
