Actor Ian Hart plays John Lennon for the third time in a new TV drama which portrays the Beatle as 50 years old, unemployed, and living in a run down flat in Birmingham.
In Snodgrass, Hart plays Lennon in a "what if . . ." scenario that sees him walk out of The Beatles in 1962 just before they were set to go supernova.
Hart previously played the late Beatle in The Hours and Times, a fictionalized account of what may have happened when Lennon and manager Brian Epstein went on holiday together to Spain in 1963, and Backbeat, which was about the band's early days in Hamburg.
In the new drama, we see Lennon smoking roll-ups in a scruffy kitchen, four weeks behind on his rent, and about to attend a job interview.

Bitter and eccentric, the fictional Lennon fails to impress his potential boss, until he is recognised as "the guy who walked out of The Beatles over a song" and is given a job licking envelopes.
In the play, which was written by music journalist and broadcaster David Quantick, the band ignored Lennon's advice to release Love Me Do as their debut single and released How Do You Do It instead.
"We could have been bigger than The Hollies," Lennon laments. However, when he returns to his flat, he finds that Paul McCartney has visited, and left a very important message with his housemate.
Snodgrass will be shown on Sky Arts1 on Thursday April 25th at 9.00pm.
