RTÉ Radio 1's Morning Ireland is the most-listened to radio show in the country, with a listenership of 443,000, the latest figures by the JNLR has revealed.
Commenting on the latest Joint National Listenership Research Survey (JNLR) Clare Duignan, Managing Director, RTÉ Radio, said: "PPI National Station of the Year Radio 1 is the major weekday winner. The book-on-book gains, almost across the full day, indicate firmly that Radio 1 is Ireland's favourite radio station for news and current affairs, general interest, sport, and music programming. ( 'Book' is JNLR parlance for quarterly results.)
"Over on lyric, stability at 3% weekday reach is very encouraging. Marty continues to build listeners at breakfast, while the drivetime slot on lyric has seen a gain in this book." The latest JNLR figures have shown that 1,881,000 adults listen to RTÉ Radio every week, which is up 15,000 book-on-book, while RTÉ Radio has scored 18 out of the top 20 most-listened-to programmes for adults 15+.
Liveline with Joe Duffy is the second most-listened-to radio show, making a book-on-book gain of 4,000, bringing total listenership to 424,000.
News at One gains 19,000 listeners year-on-year and 9,000 b-o-b to 369,000.
