2fm DJ Ruth Scott stayed true to her Roscommon roots last night at the Oblivion premiere in Dublin when she handed international movie star Tom Cruise a GAA jersey from her home county in honour of his Irish heritage.
Cruise mania hit Dublin yesterday with the movie star taking a whistle-stop tour around the city.
First up, he attended a ceremony at Dublin's Iveagh House where he was presented with a Certificate of Irish Heritage by Táiniste Eamon Gilmore.
Next he swung by The Guinness Storehouse to taste a pint of the black stuff while taking in the views of the city.
But it was at last night's premiere of his new sci-fi flick, Oblivion, that the public got their chance to see the star close up and personal when he spent almost an hour and a half signing autographs and taking pictures with his fans.
Amongst the crowd was 2fm DJ Ruth Scott who was thrilled when she got the chance to give the Hollywood icon a Roscommon GAA jersey.
Speaking to RTÉ Ten Scott said: "I just met Tom Cruise and because he is from Roscommon and I am from Roscommon I gave him a Roscommon jersey. I feel like about ten Christmases and birthdays have arrived on the one day.
"He's terribly nice and small and perfect."
Other Irish stars in attendance at the premiere last night included Sharon Corr, Cecelia Ahern and Bressie.
Bressie told RTÉ Ten: "I don't get star struck be he is a bit of a dude. Much taller than I thought."

Oblivion hits Irish cinemas on April 10.
