It is reported that Liam Neeson is finalising a deal to return as Bryan Mills in Taken 3, with his salary said to be "in the vicinity of $20m".
Deadline.com, which broke the story, says that the plan is to begin production on the third instalment of the action-thriller in February.
It is reported that Neeson's salary for the first sequel was around $15m.
The first Taken film had a budget of around $25m and made over $226m. The second was made for approximately $45m and made over $376m.
Deadline says that the makers of the movie will now try to persuade Maggie Grace and Famke Janssen to reprise their roles as Mills' daughter and ex-wife.
The script is being written by the writers of the first two films, Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen.
