The 47-year-old actor has posted a snap of himself wearing a bronze battle helmet with a message alluding to the mythical Scottish beastie.
''Once again MIT grant sanctioned archeologists Pekk & Sheen, rig battle gear for tonight's sortie on the Loch Ness.'' Sheen tweeted.
One fan responded to his message, writing: ''It's about time Nessie was found!! Thanks Charlie. (sic)''
