Home and Away actor Dan Ewing visited Our Lady's Children's Hospital Crumlin with his wife Marni on Tuesday to meet patients and donate his spare change to the Heaven Cent fundraising campaign.

Heaven Cent is a joint initiative by Our Lady's Children's Hospital Crumlin and Temple Street Children's Hospital which asks the public to donate their loose change to help both national children's hospitals.

Sarah Benson, Communications Manager for the Children's Medical & Research Foundation, Our Lady's Children's Hospital Crumlin, said: "There was great excitement in the hospital when Dan arrived. He brought huge joy to the families and patients, some of whom spend days, weeks and even years in the hospital. Dan was a welcome break from hospital life and really brightened up their day."

The Heaven Cent campaign is in its final week, with the hospitals hoping to raise €2m by Monday July 15.

You can donate your loose change at any of the collection points in Bank of Ireland, An Post, Tesco and Texaco outlets nationwide. To find out more or donate online, visit: www.heavencent.ie.
