TEN's TV picks for tonight

Written By Unknown on Kamis, 25 Juli 2013 | 23.37

Dara O Briain returns with a new series of the always great Science Club; things get trickier in The Good Wife; and the last of First Dates on Channel 4. Here are our top telly picks for tonight, July 25th

Dara O Briain's Science Club, BBC Two, 8.00pm

He's not just a funny face you know? Dara O Briain, accompanied by his regular team of science journalist Alok Jha, Professor Mark Miodownik and Dr Helen Czerski, return to go on a journey through time - exploring what it is, when it started and how we can get more of it. Dr Czerski visits Dr Doris Taylor, an astonishing woman who has been accused of being Frankenstein. In a laboratory in Texas she has recreated an incredible living, beating human heart. Back in the studio, Professor Miodownik reveals the mysteries of explosions and solves the centuries old puzzle of the enigmatic "Prince Rupert's drop" by slowing down time. He also shows a camera that can actually capture the speed of light itself. Alok Jha investigates the incredibly slender margins of winning as he joins the UK's Olympic Bob Sled team. Using multi million pound technology, they are forensically testing every component of their sled, in their push for Olympic glory. All presided over by Dara who brings his humorous and passion to bear on the subject matter.

The Good Wife, RTÉ One, 10.15pm

In an episode entitled Battle of The Proxies, Will defends a man accused of murder and Alicia attempts to influence the outcome of his case by aiding the prosecutor in a nearby county who is trying another man for the same crime. Meanwhile, Eli feels heat from the Justice Department, and Nick's actions force Kalinda's hand. Hamish Linklater guest stars as Justice Department official David LaGuardia.

First Dates, Channel 4, 9.00pm

Sadly it's the final episode of what has been an eye-opener of a reality series, Ladies' man Terry is back in the restaurant to find love, hoping it will be third time lucky. Has he met his match with bi-sexual Larisha? Fifty-year-old Ed has spent over £10,000 on dating, with little or no success, but is hoping that Dawn will be the woman of his dreams. Canadian born and bred Donato has only recently moved to the UK and his transatlantic charms may win over Londoner Kate. Twenty-two-year-old Rajan returns to the restaurant, but once again his bold dating techniques and unique line of questioning may leave him without a second date on the cards. We have a feeling that this series will be back.
