The 55-year-old actress exchanged vows with 40-year-old Townley at the Vale do Lobo resort in the Algarve in front of friends and family, according to the Daily Record.
It is believed that Welch invited a number of her celebrity acquaintances, including actresses Jill Halfpenny and Shobna Gulati and actor Marc Warren, to the ceremony.
Welch was previously married to Benidorm actor Tim Healy.
