Michelle Collins has announced that she is leaving her role as Stella Price in Coronation Street.
The actress, who has played the Rovers Return landlady since June 2011, has decided not to renew her contract when it expires in April.
The Mirror reports that the ITV soap's bosses could not persuade Collins to stay.
Producer Stuart Blackburn commented: "We wish Michelle every happiness as she moves on to pastures new."
Her departure is the latest in a line of stars bowing out from the soap, with Sue Johnston and Michelle Keegan also due to depart next year.
Stella's final scenes will be aired in June of next year.
