It has been reported that Richard Gere and his actress wife Carey Lowell have split up.
The New York Post claims the pair have been living apart from some time but now have decided to officially file for divorce.
Representatives for the couple have declined to comment on the reports of a separation.
The couple got married in 2002 and have a son named Homer.
The actor was previously married to model Cindy Crawford.
