Love/Hate star Tom Vaughan-Lawlor has spoken about how much he enjoys playing the character Nidge.
The actor joked that his life wouldn't be worth living if he revealed whether or not his character will survive to see series 5 of the popular RTÉ drama.
He also spoke to RTÉ Radio One about Nidge's ever-changing character: "One of the joys of playing the part is he's a different man in all four series'.
"He's always changing and he's incredibly difficult to pinpoint."
He continued: "People are drawn to him because of his humour, the moments he has with his children and the moments he has with his own conscious.
"He's been centre stage; he's achieved what he thought he wanted to achieve and now he's wondering if it's what he's always wanted."
Vaughan-Lawlor also addressed the seriousness of the subject-matter in Love/Hate saying: "Stuart [Carolan, Love/Hate creator] is very serious about showing the repercussions of the killings and drug culture.
"Stuart doesn't set up a scene or a storyline without showing the effects it has on the community. He never creates scenes for just the shock factor."
Love/Hate returns for its fourth season on RTÉ One at 9.30pm, Sunday October 6th.
