The very first Encyclopaedia of Music in Ireland has just been published and it's a 1,145 page, two-volume thing of beauty covering everything from Aslan to Zozimus and from The Abbey Theatre to Zrazy.
The encyclopaedia has been ten years in the making and features over 2,000 entries written by 240 writers, musicians and academics. Published by UCD Press the general editors are Professor Hary White of UCD and Professor Barra Boydell of NUI Maynooth.
