Wikileaks movie The Fifth Estate has beaten off a gaggle of turkeys including Broken City and Parker to be rated the biggest global box office flop of 2013.
According to Forbes magazine's annual poll, it had the worst takings-to-budget ratio in the past year. The movie, directed by Oscar winner Bill Conden and starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, was savaged by critics and largely ignored by cinema-goers.
We didn't like it too much either. Review here.
So far it has made $6m (€4,412,769) of its relatively small $28m (€20m) budget, according to Forbes.
The Fifth Estate did have strong competition for the No 1 slot. In second place is the Sylvester Stallone action movie Bullet to the Head.
Also rated highly in the top of the movie flops was the Jason Statham and Jennifer Lopez heist thriller Parker and the truly egregious Broken City, which saw Mark Wahlberg and Russell Crowe engaged in a scenery chewing contest.
