The decorations are up and the Christmas lights are in place, and now news2day art competition winner, Robert Dunne, is set to switch on the RTÉ Christmas lights within the next hour!
Robert (11) and his younger brother, James, and sister, Rachel, came all the way from Dromahane, Mallow, Co. Cork with their proud parents to show off his wonderful drawing.
Speaking about his big win, an excited Robert said: "Well at first I was really shocked. It's kind of sinking in now. It's so cool to be walking around RTÉ and seeing the Fair City set. The Toy Show set is so cool. I also loved seeing the news room where they do the Six One News."
He added: "I definitely want to become a news reader after seeing that."
When asked about his beautiful winning creation, Robert added: "At first the bottom of my painting was meant to be white. But then by accident I actually ruined it. It became blue by mistake and looked terrible. I decided to put green over it and it looked fine then."
Robert insisted that lots of detail went into his drawing that took "hours and hours" to make, saying: "Well there's Santa and a reindeer, but it's not Rudolph, and my house is in it too!"
Before he prepared for his next important job, turning on the RTÉ Christmas lights, Robert told Ten what Santa is bringing him for Christmas.
He said: "I want a Kindle HDX for Christmas because I love reading. My favourite book is The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel."
