Hollywood legend Robert De Niro is being sought for the lead role in Gambling Man.
Borsalino Films has acquired the rights to Gary Green's gambling memoir, which relates a series of colourful anecdotes from the life and times of the casino boss.
A writer and director are yet to be found for the proposed film adaptation. Digital Spy says De Niro is among several actors being considered for the cast, but talks have yet to commence.
The 70-year-old is in much demand: his new film, American Hustle, opens in Ireland on January 1 and is followed by Last Vegas on January 3 and Grudge Match on January 24.
He will also be seen in three other upcoming movies: Bag Man, Hands of Stone and The Intern.
