RTÉ tops the Christmas TV ratings

RTÉ Television has topped the ratings for Christmas 2013, with RTÉ One and RTÉ Two the number one - and two - ranked channels respectively, with Mrs Brown's Boys the most-watched programme.

The Mrs Brown's Boys Christmas Special, Buckin' Mammy, which aired on RTÉ One, had an average audience of 832,000 viewers (44% share) on Christmas Day.

Eight of the Top 10 most-watched programmes on Christmas Day were on RTÉ Television, with the network premiere of the rom-com, Bridesmaids, on RTÉ One in second place, with an average of 455,700 viewers, while Fair City landed in the third spot with 448,900 viewers.

All of the Top 10 most-watched programmes on Christmas Eve were on RTÉ Television, with RTÉ News: Six-One in first place with 506,400 viewers.

RTÉ News: Nine O'Clock was in second place with an average of 447,600 viewers, while Fair City on RTÉ One was in third place with an average of 441,100 viewers.

On Christmas Eve, RTÉ Two was the number one channel for Adults 15-34 with an average share of 13.7% across the day, rising to 16.4% during peak-time (6:00–11:29pm).

All figures quoted refer to the average viewership for Individuals 4+/National/Live + VOSDAL.
