Scorsese and DiCaprio heckled at screening

Veteran director Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio were heckled at a screening of their controversial new movie The Wolf of Wall Street at the weekend according to reports.

Scorsese, who has worked with DiCaprio on acclaimed movies such as The Aviator and The Departed, was called "disgusting" by an unnamed screenwriter who clearly was unhappy with the film's graphic portrayal of drug-taking, sex and greed on Wall Street in the 1990s.

The director was also told "shame on you" according to a report on film website The Wrap which had noted a Facebook post from actress Hope Holdiay, who starred in Billy Wilder's 1960 classic The Apartment.

She wrote: "Tonight was torture at the Academy — "The Wolf Of Wall Street" – three hours of torture – same disgusting crap over and over again. After the film they had a discussion which a lot of us did not stay for – the elevator doors opened and Leonardo DiCaprio, Martin Scorsese and a few others got out.

"Then a screen writer ran over to them and started screaming – shame on you – disgusting."
