After a seven-year absence from the label, U2 are set to return to Island Records for the release of their forthcoming 13th studio album next year.
U2 signed to the legendary imprint which has released albums by Bob Marley, Grace Jones and Tom Waits in 1979, but departed for Mercury Records after expressing their dissatisfaction with the way they were being treated.
However, the band has continued to show its affection for Island, founded in 1959 by Chris Blackwell, by including its logo on their releases even though they had headed to Mercury.
The follow-up to 2009 album No Line on The Horizon, the band's most commercially unsuccessful album in decades, is expected to be released around March.
In an interview with The Washington Post, Bono previewed new song Invisible which is described as "an anthemic number about leaving one's hometown"
