Dublin fivepiece Aslan say lead singer Christy Dignam is responding well to cancer treatment and is on the mend.
Dignam (53) was diagnosed with cancer last year after seeking medical help for what was assumed to be a chest infection.
The full statement posted on Aslan's Facebook page today reads:
"To our friends, our fans, and the media. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support, well wishes, kindness and understanding over the last challenging ten months. We feel your support has helped carry us to where we are today and for that we are truly grateful.
"Christy has returned from the UK with the good news that his treatment is working well and he is now on the mend. There is still a long way to go with the recovery process, BUT, this good news has really given us all the best possible start to 2014.
With such promising news, we hope this means that we will see you all stage side later on this year!"
