Upcoming Breaking Bad spin-off, Better Call Saul, will "stretch the boundaries of what it means to be a drama" according to AMC's vice president Joel Stillerman.
Stillerman told The Wrap, "You know, [we're] taking an inherently funny character and surprising people in both directions. It's an hour show, it will be a drama, but it will also be very funny, as Bob's character was on that show."
It was announced in September that Bob Odenkirk, who played Saul Goodman on the TV series, would star in a spin-off show to the popular drama with Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan at the helm.
While it was first believed that Better Call Saul would be a prequel to Breaking Bad, Gilligan has recently revealed that it will span a large area of time. "We think, by and large, this show will be a prequel, but the wonderful thing about the fractured chronology we employed on Breaking Bad for many years is the audience will not be thrown by us jumping around in time."
