ROG – The Ronan O'Gara Documentary
9.30pm RTÉ One
ROG provides unprecedented access to Ronan O'Gara's life – public and private – over the final four years of his playing career. The film charts an exceptionally dramatic period for one of Ireland's most compelling sporting stars. It takes the story from his losing his place as Ireland's rugby No 10 to his decision to retire and move to France as coach to Racing Métro 92, alongside former nemesis, Jonathan Sexton.
Silent Witness
9.00pm BBC One
It's the seventeenth series (no kidding) and there's a new head of The Lyell Centre, Forensic Pathologist Dr. Thomas Chamberlain (Richard Lintern). Chamberlain is a good choice to lead the Lyell Centre after the death of Leo Dalton, but his sudden arrival and new approach is met by a frosty reception from Nikki, Jack and Clarissa. It's not long before his judgement is called into question. In the opening episode, a sex tape links Premiership footballer Isaac Dreyfus to the brutal murder of a young woman, threatening to destroy his reputation and marriage. Continues tomorrow night.
Guth: The Beatles in Dublin
9.25pm TG4
The Beatles' arrival in Dublin for a concert - almost 50 years to the day - is recalled in all its hysteria and hormonal implosions. Beatlemania had been boiling over in England for the previous six months and by the time they came here She Loves You was already their third number one. These guys were the offspring of Liverpool Irish parents and they would shake up the scene forever and alter popular music irrevocably. Guests include Sean Campbell, author of Irish Blood, English Heart; Rod Davis, a member of The Quarrymen from which band The Beatles evolved; and Irish pop guru BP Fallon.
