First Look: Dwayne Johnson as Hercules

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has revealed the first official picture from upcoming action movie Hercules: The Thracian Wars.

The 41-year-old wrestler and actor, who is set to take on the lead role in the fantasy adventure, captioned the shot: "The world's first superhero. #TilDeathOrVictory."

Directed by Brett Ratner (Prison Break, Horrible Bosses), the movie also stars Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes, Peter Mullan, John Hurt, Rebecca Ferguson, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Aksel Hennie, Reece Ritchie and Tobias Santelmann.

Hercules: The Thracian Wars hits cinemas on August 8.
