The Irish short Coda has been named Best Animated Short Film at the South by SouthWest (SXSW) Film Festival in Austin, Texas.
Directed by Alan Holly and funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board (IFB), RTÉ and the Arts Council, Coda tells the story of a lost soul who crosses paths in a park with Death and was selected for the festival from 4,249 short film applications.
Two years in the making, the nine-minute, hand-drawn Coda is voiced by Brian Gleeson (The Stag, Love/Hate) and Orla Fitzgerald (The Wind that Shakes the Barley).
The Irish feature films Frank and Patrick's Day are also screening as part of SXSW.
