Grainne Seoige has revealed that she has been engaged to her boyfriend, former rugby player Leon Jordaan, since November.
The 40-year-old TV presenter told The Sunday Independent why the couple decided to keep their happy news under wraps until now. "We wanted time to enjoy it ourselves. When it is out there, it takes on a life of its own."
Seoige has been in a relationship with South African Jordaan since October 2011 and the couple threw a party last night at Dublin nightclub Lillie's Bordello to thank their friends for keeping their secret for so long.
Seoige tweeted her thanks to the staff at Lillie's this morning. "Thank you Dave, Paul, Aisling & all the fab team @LilliesDublin for making our surprise party a blast! We are so thrilled! #YouGuysRock"
In 2002, Seoige married former colleague and long term partner Stephen Cullinane who worked as sports editor at TV3 News. She and Cullinane separated in 2010. She has a teenage son named Conall from a previous relationship.
