Three remain on MasterChef Ireland

The three finalists on MasterChef Ireland have been revealed after a tough eight weeks in the competition.

Edel Byrne, Niamh Mannion and Diana Dodog are the final three contestants to make it into the final stages of the competition, as Hugh Mullan was eliminated.

Judges Dylan McGrath and Nick Munier deemed that Hugh's duck was not to the standard that they expected.

Hugh commented on leaving the show: "Today I didn't get it right and rightfully I am leaving the competition. I would loved to have been in the final but it's good for my kids to see sometimes you don't win, you just have to get up and keep going."

The series continues on RTÉ One on Tuesday April 29 and Wednesday April 30 at 8:30pm.
