Irish company Wildcard Distribution has acquired the rights to Get Up and Go, the new film from writer-director Brendan Grant which stars Love/Hate actors Peter Coonan and Killian Scott.

The story of "two friends in Dublin at the wrong end of their 20s" who reach a crossroads in their lives, Get Up and Go receives its world premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh on Thursday July 10.

Get Up and Go will be released in Irish cinemas later this year.

The film includes live performances from actor Coonan, David Kitt and Mik Pyro (Republic of Loose), with Villagers, Jape, Adrian Crowley and Lisa O'Neill also featuring on the soundtrack.

Commenting, director Grant said: "I'm delighted to be returning to Galway for the premiere of Get Up and Go, since the Fleadh is synonymous with receptive and knowledgeable audiences and has always proved to be a great launch-pad for Irish cinema.

"It is a pleasure to be working with Wildcard on the distribution side, and to feel confident that your film is in safe and creative hands."
