Laura Whitmore revisits her old school

Written By Unknown on Minggu, 08 Juni 2014 | 23.37

TV presenter Laura Whitmore returns to her old school on tonight's episode of School Around the Corner.

The MTV star shared her thoughts on returning to Loreto Secondary School in Bray, saying: "You spend so much of your life, six years in total, within these walls, so to come back you do get those memories, nostalgia flooding back straight away."

Whitmore also opened up on how her time in school shaped her career, saying: "It was the debating, the drama, the public speaking that I really liked. Definitely put me in mind for what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

"One of my huge influences was Iris Keogh who was my drama teacher since I was about about five or six.  My mum said I was in primary school and they said "She's  very quiet, she's not really talking" so my mum sent me off to drama with Iris. My mum said I came home that day with my hand on my hip and this new attitude and she just thought 'What have I done?'"

Also on this week's episode, Ray D'Arcy meets the children from Oulart National School, Wexford and Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School, Limerick and finds out if the school around the corner is just the same.

Watch School Around The Corner at 18:30pm on RTÉ One.
