A last ditch effort to save the Garth Brooks concerts is understood to be under way involving members of the Oireachtas Transport and Communications Committee.
A committee hearing heard today from promoter Peter Aiken that the only remaining option is if Dublin City Council agrees not to contest a judicial review in the High Court.
The promoter said that if this was agreed today, the concerts could be back on.
However, Dublin City Council Chief Executive Owen Keegan said yesterday the council would vigorously contest any such application.
The committee is understood to have decided that an official recommendation to Dublin City Council is not within its remit, but that individual members will attempt to establish if any agreement can be reached.
