Tamzin Outhwaite: "tough being a single parent"

New Tricks actress Tamzin Outhwaite has opened up about her personal life, insisting that "it's tough" being a single mum.

The mum-of-two, who split from actor Tom Ellis after seven years of marriage, said: "It's tough working as a single parent.

"I'm lucky enough to have chunks of time when I'm at home and a huge circle of friends and family, although my biggest extravagance is child care."

Outhwaite further told The Telegraph that she gets upset talking about her divorce saying: "I can't talk about it [the divorce]. Of course, there's a part of me that wants to set the record straight, but I don't want to put any more stuff out there on to the internet for my children to end up reading. If the price for that is being seen in an unflattering light now, then it's one I'm prepared to pay."

Some day they will know the truth, the 43-year old actress reveals, but it will come from her and be told to them privately.
