Hunger Games actress Jena Malone is rumoured to have landed the plum role of the much-spoken about female Robin in the forthcoming Batman Vs Superman movie.
Michigan television station WILX 10 first reported the rumour last week and speculation has been fuelled by a sighting of 29-year-old Malone on the movie's set in Detroit.
If the rumours are true, she is thought to be playing Carrie Kelley, a flame-haired alternative version of Robin and one of the various manifestations of Robin in the Batman comic books.
There has also been speculation that Malone, who also starred in Pride and Prejudice and Into The Wild, will play Batgirl in the movie.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is expected to open in early 2015 and stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.
The cast also includes Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Jesse Eisenberg and Jeremy Irons.
