Olly Murs has sent a letter to Taylor Swift to say sorry for his recent comments that seemed to mock her song-writing skills.
The Troublemaker singer has spoken out about his recent comments towards Taylor Swift and insisted he never meant to offend the US superstar.
The 30-year-old X Factor runner-up appeared to lash out at Swift for always writing songs about her former boyfriend, One Direction's Harry Styles.
Speaking on 2DayFM's breakfast show in Australia last week Murs said: "Come on [Taylor], let it go. Write something new that isn't about Harry."
However in a more recent interview with The Daily Mail Australia Murs is adamant his comments were blown of proportion. He said: "I reached out to Taylor around two days ago. I gave her a letter and said, 'I'm really sorry... It came out wrong. I'm sorry I didn't mean to make any offence.'
"It always came out that every article says Taylor writes songs and they always link it to Harry so I was just making a joke and defending my mate."
He added: "It wasn't nice what I said, but it was a joke. I didn't expect it to blow up like it did."
