Who Do You Think You Are?

9.00pm BBC One

Model, actor and fashion designer Twiggy - Lesley Hornby - was one of the world's first supermodels. At the age of 16, her photo was spotted on the wall of a Mayfair hairdresser and a reporter duly described her as the 'face of the 60s'. "It was madness", she recalls on tonight's programme. "I was suddenly in the newspapers and being flown all around the world." She grew up in Neasden, a suburb of north-west London. "We didn't have lots of money but, you know, we had a car, we had a telly. I had my mum and dad, I had my sisters. He was brilliant, my dad. I was devoted to him. That doesn't mean I didn't love and adore mum, but she was much, much more complicated. She suffered with her nerves." Both parents told her nothing at all about her family. RTÉ One, incidentally, is also showing Who Do You Think You Are? tonight  at 10.15pm. In this previous edition, footballer John Barnes (born Nov 7, 1963) investigates the role his grandfather played in Jamaica's struggle for self-rule.

Meet the McDonaghs

9.30pm RTÉ Two

The series has one what it promised, and afforded a window into the a family who are proud to be 'traveller' and an insight into their unique culture and attitudes to love, religion, morality, education and family. The final episode sees the family travel to the Cahirmee Horse Fair, which is held on July 12 every year in the town of Buttevant, County Cork.  Also tonight, there is a visit to Galway and Kelly performs her biggest gig. Final episode.

Later Live - with Jools Holland

11.45pm TG4

TG4 have been showing archive editions of Jools'  music show lately, which is surely a fine idea and worth staying up for (or, if not, pressing the record button.) Indie quartet Bloc Party returned to the studio on tonight's programme, from Tuesday October 21, 2008 to perform tracks from their then third album Intimacy. Jakob Dylan, son of Bob, made an appearance to sing a selection of songs from his self-titled debut. Keane presented their album Perfect Symmetry, while Allen Toussaint, one of the most influential figures in New Orleans R&B, performed at the piano. In the World Music corner, African legends Amadou & Mariam also visited the studio. Picture shows Bloc Party's Kele Okareke in Whelan's, Dublin on a recent visit.
