The first trailer for new Irish movie The Guarantee, which tells the fateful story of the night when the Irish government decided to grant a guarantee to the banks, has been released. Love/Hate's Peter Coonan stars as David Drumm, former chief executive of Anglo Irish Bank.
The Guarantee begins its story four years before the bank guarantee was granted and charts the rise and fall of the Celtic Tiger from boom to bust.
All the key players who had a hand in making the decision, including then Taoiseach Brian Cowen, the late Finance Minister Brian Lenihan, Central Bank officials and civil servants, feature in the film which also stars David Murray, Orla Fitzgerald, Morgan C. Jones and Gary Lydon.
The Guarantee is based on Colin Murphy's stage play Guaranteed! and is due for release in Irish cinemas on October 30.
