Michelle Obama is hosting a special event with a screening of Doc McStuffins at the White House to celebrate Veterans Day.

Doc McStuffins is a production of Irish computer animation studio Brown Bag Films in association with the Disney Channel.

A special military-themed episode of the animation will be screened for families of veterans at the White House on Monday, November 10.

The episode is called Training Army Al and focuses on the emotions children face when a parent or loved one is deployed. It will air on Veterans Day on Tuesday, November 11 on the Disney Channel.

Doc McStuffins, Art and Episodic Director, Bronagh O'Hanlon said to TEN: "Being both Irish and having a dad who's an American Vet, I'm proud to be working on Doc McStuffins and on this episode in particular.

"It's not often you work on a show with such a positive influence on kids, a strong female lead and important subject matters like these. Having worked with the talented McStuffins crew for six years now, the show still feels as fresh and fun to me as on the first day I started designing the characters."

Chris Nee is the creator and executive producer of Doc McStuffins, while Norton Virgien is director.
