The Jameson Dublin International Film Festival (JDIFF) has announced that it is to hold a special advance screening of the Oscar-tipped Whiplash in Movies@Dundrum later this month.
The screening takes place on Tuesday November 18 at 7:00pm, and tickets will be available exclusively through www.jdiff.com.
To ensure a ticket people must sign up to the JDIFF mailing list. Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Written and directed by Damien Chazelle, Whiplash tells the story of a gifted young drummer (Miles Teller) who becomes the pupil of a tyrannical instructor (JK Simmons) at a music conservatory.
Whiplash is released in cinemas on Friday January 16, 2015.
The 2015 Jameson Dublin International Film Festival runs from March 19-29.

Travelling to over 20 different festivals a year, seeking out films and guests for the annual film jamboree that is JDIFF, I see a lot of new films - over 1,200 films a year at last count. But I can still recall every frame of seeing Whiplash for the first time.
"It was in Les Arcades, one of the smaller cinemas in Cannes. It was a sunny day and the packed audience didn't care about the weather as the advance word about this music drama was something special. And the film delivered on this advance promise...
"The spectacular sense of energy and tension which builds to a crescendo is both thrilling and emotional, the lead actors are both stunning and it's a film you will want to see again and again. It's my film pick of the year and a pleasure to share with Dublin audiences."
