Killers frustrated they are not as famous as U2

The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers has admitted he is frustrated they are not as famous as U2.

Speaking about how The Killers fit into the current music landscape the 33-year-old Mr Brightside singer said: "It's changed so much now, there's so much music out there and so much noise to compete with, it's strange times. 

"So sometimes it's frustrating with four different people and four different personalities in this band, we don't have that whole history that U2 have of these four young kids that knew each other and grew up in the same town."

He admitted to NME that he is unsatisfied that The Killers haven't met the same levels of fame as U2. "It is frustrating. People actually talk about how they don't feel like they're adequate, and it's a big band. I don't feel like that - I feel like I can do it." 

The Killers recently released their ninth annual Christmas single Joel, the Lump of Coal,  which aims to raise money for AIDS charity, (RED). 

Flowers second solo album is expected to be released in 2015.
